Tried & Tested

A few bad experiences that I like to share. I hope this will be a good lesson for anyone reading this. I have never been to WA but had a $500 ATM withdrawal transaction.

Always thought bank cards were safe and somehow overlooked these ones amongst heaps of transactions on my account statement until I discovered these unauthorised monthly withdrawals of US99.95 fifteen months later by an unknown website company outside Australia.

These secure sleeves have been tested to see if they really work. I was able to perform these tests with people I know. I was also told by this lady when we were doing the test that she recently walked past someone with a laptop and a walkie talkie on the table having coffee - she heard 2 'beeping' sound and knew very well that her bag has been scanned. Yes, she definitely would be checking her bank account regularly to spot any unauthorised transactions. She did say too that, 'they' would usually withdraw $ a few months later when we have forgotten about it. So beware!

I used the sleeve to protect personal information e.g. private health card and other important cards

• First test, I scanned my regular Gloria Jeans loyalty card with the RFID secure sleeve - nothing appeared on the screen. Tried a second time, same result.
• Second test was at the Mail Distribution Room collecting my overseas parcels. Before they could release the parcels, they have to scan the barcode. I placed the RFID secure sleeve in between the barcode and the scanner, it read nothing. Tried again the second time - still nothing. I am therefore convinced these RFID secure sleeves truly works.
• Third test at a supermarket checkout, pretended to have forgotten to take the debit card out of the sleeve, it sure did protect the card from being scanned.
